Exclamation Post your best burn down pictures!

If you run them hard and lean on them, it will happen!!!

This was my best. Took out a piston, rod and had to have it sleeved!!!

And it did not damage the head at all... Amazing!

Oh, and the studs, I grew tired of fiddling with the weak aluminum thin threads in the block, so I installed threaded inserts and then studs. BOOM, problem solved.

I've never melted a crossflow like that, but I have killed 2 loopers. One was a 93 Venom. Crank, rod and sleeve were junk, and a piston that resembled a handful of silver gravel when it was reunited.

When I do something, I go all out!

I usually like to keep my Xflows fat and happy. This was a fluke. Lost fuel in that carb and boom!

I ran my other 2.6 on the fringe. It was perfect long as you had good fuel. One bad tank though and it seized with 30' cleaver and did an about face at 95+. What fun that was!

Saw a piston come out of a 2.5 one time that looked like a meteorite. Not sure what engine it was but that one cylinder leaned out at over 9k & it was over. Would have paid good money for the paper weight. Only time I've personally seen that happen. It was at the Suwannee run in 2017. Wish I had taken a picture. RR

Yammer had an epic pic of a ported 2.6 Yamaha come apart and sawing the block in half.

When I worked at the OMC dealership I saw many blocks with “air conditioning” from parts of rods taking a sunny vacation.
