Can't remember the year the V8 F1 program started in the USA but it was after Europe. It was my impression that all USA teams leased their engines from 2nd Effort and did not really own them.

Bob Lacoste…this one’s for you. For those relatively new to the fast outboard hobby, Bob was a pioneer…running hotrod outboards back when we actually had to grind up real dinosaurs for our fuel. Proof? Check this Powerboat Magazine story from March 1979…44 years ago!

Powerboat articles like this for hi perf outboards was one of the primary reasons I subscribed to the publication for many years. When the editorial staff started to focus on offshore poker runs and bikinis I stopped my renewals.

I worked part time at Action for several years in the 1970s. I worked in the shop doing pretty much everything building and rigging. I also owned a E Production Action and drove several other boats for Action. I first met Barney in 1967 and he was at my wedding in 1968. I have since lost touch with Barney.

The UIM SE class #56 Werter Morelli is a Renato Molinari built boat. You did not see many Molinari boats in the UIM SE Class.
    Of course with Evinrude power.
