Hundreds of damaged boats up for auction at salvage yard in Charlotte County, FL
I feel bad that all of these boats ended up there, but I thought it might be interesting to drive there to have a look. If anybody is here in southwest FL, might be a worthwhile trip.
The salvage yard is open Thursday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I found a 39 FT Trawler for $3500.
Home base will be St Johns river, going to have a 16 foot 6 inch Hydrost5ream as It's dinghy.

Did you buy that trawler? I feel guilty for saying this, but this will be a unique situation that could benefit a lot of people. I don't think there has ever been so many thousands of boats of all types in one area, and I'm betting there will be countless gems in there for people that can do repair work. I'm going to take a ride there to see if there is anything that would interest you all here. This is the company that is handling the auction: Cooper Capital Specialty Salvage (cooperss.com). That site lists hundreds of boats for auction, which I assume are mostly the ones referenced here.
If I find some worthwhile engines, I'll let you all know what's there. I assume they will not be parting out these boats, but I'll ask at the salvage yard. They'll probably part out badly damaged hulls and scrap the rest but we'll see. Just imagine finding a nice stock 2.5 200 Merc that was rigged to a generic fishing boat and getting it for really, really cheap. It's possible. I'm betting the people organizing this don't know the specific appeal of those engines for us and they'll probably get rid of them as old fishing motors.
I'm also wondering if I'll see any of the newer V6 or V8 four-stroke Mercs. Judging by some of the aerial photos I've seen, there are a lot of flats boats there with large outboards.
