for what its worth on the tanks-
It isnt ONLY Skater's having tank issues. Its ANYTHING with a fiberglass tank. We've had to replace tanks in Bertrams from the 1960s to Ocean Express cats from the late 1990s to 4 different Skaters from 1986-2002.
Skater's new tank "resin" seesm to be holding up well but I would still avoid ethanol at all costs. Everythung holds up until it doesnt.

Oh and the 28 is an EPIC hull. We sold/rigged 2 back in the 90s. One was dominating on the race course (Body Guard) the other still holds an APBA Endurance Record(triple 2.5 OS).

Paint and interior were completed by ex-MTI guys. Every once in awhile I feel like I should sell it, but then I think about how much fun it is. It is a little hotrod and with the wraparound, we can cruise hard without getting our faces blown off. Being able to communicate while running hard is a great benefit. The 300x 2 strokes sound bad ass and run hard. I do not run it enough in a year to concern myself with fuel mileage. It is a blast to drive.

We are at LOTO and unfortunately on the weekends the lake gets stirred up by the cruisers, so I have to put it back on the lift. I have considered moving bigger, but am afraid that I'd lose the fun of the 28. We did the Key West Poker Run a year ago and the Atlantic side beat the snot out of us, BUT, running inside was absolutely awesome.
You won't lose the fun feeling if you upgrade. I will take you out in my 32' or 36' anytime I am up at the lake. The only downside is cost, all of the rest is way better.

    Joe
