Dva directly at switchbox output for # 6. Will determine if you have a bad wire to coil.

Some of you asked about linkage and timing.

Carb sync, idle stop, throttle cam roller, etc is set per the book.
    Idle timing = 11 ATDC
    Max timing = 18 BTDC
Timing mark pointer was checked/set using #1 TDC with dial indicator measurement and the 0.462 reading.
Timing link arm-to-trigger distance: set to 17.5mm per the book.

The cd box-to-coil harnesses are new. Zero ohms on all 6 wires. I wish it were just a bad wire!

If the wire is good then it sounds like you have a bad switchbox.

Read where you said, you swapped switchboxs around, no change. Something doesn't add up here.

    Thanks for the info.
I swapped the cd boxes around. Wouldn't the issue move to #5 in that case?

It should have. Not sure what you got going on. Acting like a bad wire. Did you check your trigger wires at the sb or up at the bullet connectors?
Or maybe your stator is going out on the low side, and giving you intermittent readings.

Do you have all the janky timing boxes removed, idle stabilizer, etc.?

My trigger wires don't have bullet connectors. Checked at the cd box. There are no idle stabilizer or timing boxes on the motor. Trigger and stator are both new CDI Electronics units.

My triggers don't have bullets either, oops.

Your white and purple wires on trigger that are reading low volts, I believe fire cylinders 3 and 6. Usually it would affect spark on both. But maybe #6 on sb doesn't likey.
When you swapped SB's did you move the trigger wires with the coil wires? Might could move a different trigger wire to # 6 and see if it sparks? Just make sure it only cranks and doesn't start.
    Careful about fuel and spark!!!

Another possibility is a bad magnet in the center of flywheel?

I told you in a previous post that stator wires come out the back. Well that was about half true, they come out the starboard side at the rear.

The issue: the motor starts and idles, but bogs and dies when put in gear/attempt to accelerate.

Have you tried disconnecting the LU shift cable and test throttle response.
I had a similar issue. Turned out to be the trigger not rotating properly. This motor was used and new to me and had not been ran for a long time. The trigger was gummed up by who knows what. Hit it with some wd40 and it slowly cleared up. I know you stated you changed the stator and trigger out. Might have to pull the flywheel and reinspect the flywheel magnets and check and reinstall stator and trigger.

Is there a worry of WD40 getting into the “works” and breaking down the plastics or insulation on the trigger wires? Or is WD40 pretty safe for wires?

I think you are indicating, once you get past your double checks, that your stator, trigger, and switchboxes are probably OK. I don't see where your #6 coil is OK.

He said he swapped 4 and 6 coil with no change. Also claims no voltage #6 output on sb.

If he would move #4 trigger wire to #6 spot on sb, and had voltage to coil, it would tell him his sb was good, and his problem was in his trigger, or flywheel.
If he still doesn't have voltage to coil it would be in sb.

Or he could, dva bias and kill, and he would have some more info on sb's.

Other than anything wrapped in black electrical tape, WD40 should be ok.

Sorry, saw the switched wire, but not the switched coil... see it now, thanks.
