    Last few parts needed

Just easier to make them sometimes.
Wing plates tie backs and pulley assemblies.
Pulleys are Titanium and I anodized them. That is the color on them.

    Almost ready for the water.!!

Important safety factor is missing! Make sure the shoulder bolts are Grade 8 or aircraft quality. BUT MOST IMPORTANT: trap the bolt on both ends with beefy washers. The washer on the gimbled rod end side should be large enough in outside diameter to "trap" the gimble should it fail. If the gimble or shoulder bolt fails, you are in for a fatal surprise!

I know the psi of all hardware used. Did you notice i'm running a "hook" on my wing.? I feel this is better than what you are describing with the washers.
I have Thousands of miles on boats with the same setup and no issues. The Hydraulic front ram with the single bolt has always worried
me but i've personally seen zero issues with that setup. Thank you.

Didn't see the hooks in photo #2 (blended in with carpet). Yes........they will trap the gimbles. Front ram single bolt. Replace every 2 seasons and don't mess with magnaflux or LPI. Not worth the time or trouble.

lol. Replace every 2 seasons.? You don't do much boating I guess. Missing safety factor.? Really. I don't think so. I'm in a capsule with air and restraints.

    YMMV.

Funny only comments I get are telling me i'm doing things wrong.
If you start off with FJB then its a huge thread. Sad.

    Dago,
One guy said "beautiful" .. I might have missed it, but I didn't see you thank him ..

Another was concerned for your safety, he missed your "double shear plates" you tell him he must not boat much.

These are long enough to not rip the wheel out of your hands when launching an STV with a 350 HP motor ... just curious, what do your plates weigh .. ?

    BTW .. FJB ..

Liljimmietrollboy .. I asked a couple relevant questions .. I can't help it that you don't have the wherewithal to comprehend them.

Never mind Dago, I guess you see why more people don't post their progress pictures ..

Nice whip, enjoy it .. be safe

Well, the parts are very nice. As always. Don't know why someone can't say FJB.? This is still the USA. As usual opinions vary from one guy to another on safety and politics. I know dago won't build anything that's not the best he can build. Sad that our varying opinions get in the way and cause friction....But we are imperfect humans after all..

    Dago:

Your hardware is beautiful! Very nicely done. What are the “hooks” that you’re referring to? Are they visible in the pictures? My brother has a similar steering set up on his Quartermaster. Just trying to learn more about these kinds of steering systems. Thanks.

Awesome work! Thank you for keeping the Merc inline still going. Love the sound of a T2X. Post some pics or video of it running!
