Aftermarket ECU programing experience
Does anyone have experience or know someone who can program a aftermarket ECU for a 3.0 Johnson?

What ECU? PanRonnie on here is deep, deep into the MegaSquirt ECU's... I think Tony Brucato does/did custom ECUs.

i can take a look if you want!?
you already tested your injectors for a close aproximation of your injector dead times?
data from you injector supplier are no good, you need to test them on your ecu

I don,t know how you came to buying a link ecu but the best thing is to try out the tuning software before you buy anything
You have a very nice expression in the US
The 10 minutes out of the box rule!
I think this also applies to aftermarket ecu,s
If you are not able to set basic engine parameters in 10 minutes after opening the tuning software it might not be the best choice for you
The UK dta software was the easiest to go through but i sold everything in favor of megasquirt because of the integrated stuff that comes with the can-egt and the innovate lamda log chain
Essentially you just need to tell the ecu how much fuel at what load same for ignition
Overly complicated systems can really throw you off track
And being able to run the tuning software on a raspberry pi

That is amazing..... I'm not. completely sure what I'm looking at... It looks like it's programing it's self. WOW. 10 years ago my engine was running Simple Digital ECU. It worked but wasn't drivable. My motor was built to be a lake ski boat motor. It made 326HP on pump gas. 9 years ago the link was suggested, Things happen and the motor has been setting and now I would like to use this motor. How can I get up to speed? I'm open to suggestion. I'm not married to the Link and willing to buy something that would work.

You might look at diyautotune.com... they have an EFI tuners guide and the MegaSquirt user manual has tons of info on tuning, also.

Ive run a couple LINK Extremes. LINK is an extremely easy system to work with. Sam Jenkins taught me a lot, within a short period of time it's pretty easy to understand and make changes to everything. The initial programming of the inputs, injectors, and ignition is the hard part. We used dual M&W ignition boxes. After the system is setup, it's super easy and fun to play with.

That is encouraging.... Sounds like there is still hope for the Link. What a great picture of your motor. Way cool. I assume it's a 3.3. Are you running EGTs. Do you know how I can get touch with Sam Jenkins? I heard Sam retired and sold his business. If you do a private message would be great.

I just talked to Sam Jenkins... He is very knowledgeable about Link ECUs and is going to help me sort things out. What a great site..... Thanks for all the input and I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mike
