280 pistons in a 1998 225 promax
? will 280/260 pistons work in a 225 promax.

Pistons, yes. But don't put the gold rings in a steel motor. Gotta get top pinned chromed rings for the steel bore.

yes they will work but like stated use different rings. Also there needs to be clearance added to the cylinders for expansion of the forged piston in a steel sleeve engine.
