30-year-old Progression 22
Well, my Progression 22 turned 30 this year. I bought the boat from the original owner when it was just 3 years old so he could move up to an identically colored Progression 24LD - which he also still owns. The boat is the very first vacuum bagged Progression and although I run it pretty hard, she's held up incredibly well. The gelcoat - other than the blue panels on the deck - is all original and has never been buffed. The original Diamond Marine modified 2.5/200 was replaced a couple of years ago with a new 4.6/ 250R and although we're still trying to find just the right setup, she really likes the extra power. My wife likes the fact that it's so much quieter, but I kind of miss the snarl from the old motor. I can't argue with the improved top end (88 MPH) though.
Here's some pics from a beautiful day on Lake Ontario near our home yesterday.

Curious how much a new Progression 22 would cost today for a hull only build

Boat is in great shape. The new motor should work well. You found the right prop?

Unfortunately, no. What I did find is a prop that the boat (and maybe more importantly the driver) likes better than the Bblades Blaster that ran the impressive number. I have a 30" Hydromotive four blade thru hub that is much more fun to drive, but it's had some work done on it by the previous owner, so I'm not exactly sure what it is. I do know that I'm down 4-5 MPH and my RPMs are well below what I'd like to see. It'll probably be going back to Hydromotive for some more work this winter.

Always loved those Progressions! Those pictures are awsome. The water looks so clean. Also, real good looking lady you have there. Have you talked to Randy about props for that boat? And, you need blue decals on that motor. I think he can get them too! Lol But now I see why I can't find any used ones. Nobody gets rid of them. I did get a quote back in April of 50k for a 22 unrigged no options or power. 62k for a 24ld

my understanding is that $50k number for a no power no rigged 22 is fairly close.

The price varies because everything is optional. Ordered my boat with nothing, even removed some of the standard items so that saved a few bucks. Since I've ordered mine they have gone up in price so that 50k is probably close for the bare hull but I don't know for certain.
To be honest I think that is still fair for the level of build you get with Progression.
According to the inflation calc that is $76,000 in todays dollars. So a new, unrigged progression 22 with a 300X or XS would actually be less than that depending on how crazy you get rigging it out.
Great pics
looking forward to the day when I can post similar pics of mine.

A bud had that same motor on his V21 and hasn't found the right prop either.

I just wanted to thank all of my friends here at S&F for all of the nice replies, PM's, Likes and Thanks for this post. I always wanted a nice, decently fast SOB and when this boat came up for sale, I jumped all over it. The former owner and I meet with our wives and boats every year at Seneca Lake for a Poker Run and he gets to make sure I'm taking care of his baby. (So far, he's happy with the care it's getting.)
Learning how to drive this boat at the limit has been a great experience and more than a few folks have approached me and asked me how the hell I do it. I can't tell you how nice that makes me feel. And being able to drive (or idle) by people on just about any lake and have them stare and point at a 30-year-old boat is a feeling I can't quite describe. Thank you all again!

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
