    My 2.4 came with red 40 amp and watercooled (@#$%^&!!!) regulator. Switched to 16 amp system with 20 amp rectifier/regulator and been great since. Fast idle brings voltage up to 13.5. WFO is around 14.4 or so.
    1990 Shadow bass boat w/ 2.4 200 Merc. Totally resto'd boat and love it!

    The red 40 amp is flex type that bolts together like 16 amp light flywheels. The black one is cast.
