...my neighbor is doing a frame-off restoration of a very simular older one. been working on it for three years. he's about half-way done. whatever you do, just buy one thats already done, or new. life is short...

That was the point of buying new. I won't have to work on it. I have enough stuff to do.
I have a Merc!
I thought about a 5th wheel camper. I know how maneuverable they are as I drove semis for over 40 years. It just kills the bed space. And I was going to put a flat top shell to carry the grill, tools, toys. etc.
BTW I have a '68 Air Stream Land Yacht that needs restored I'll let go cheap if anyone is interested. Clear title, it just needs a lot of work!

Ah... well, simplicity is the key. I have some friends with slide outs, and they have give a lot of trouble and water leaks!
