And there is the clowns that compare full on race built stuff to factory warranty vehicles with lots of seats and comfort. A 32DW pleasure cat 6 seater almost hit 130mph in 3/4 mile last weekend. Please by all means compare it to a potato chip single seater on spray.....Don't be that guy in the gym that tells everyone what you used to bench. Lol

I used to have two different cats that ran well north of 140. They had 2000 hp and 2600 hp each boat. I grew tired of the maintenance and expense. Traveling over 140 gets scary on the water. I also become concerned of my mortality. I prefer my slower cats now. Insurance companies are charging more for there really fast cats. I am done with that. I do like the new tech with hulls and engines.
On to the subject of EV cars. We just bought a Tesla Model S 100D for my wife. I am convinced these cars are the future. Super comfortable ride, high tech navigation and controls. FAST... we opted for the long range not the performance model. Her car will run 155 top speed and 0-60 in 3.5. The Model S Plaid is stupid fast. The Model S is a four-door sedan that weighs 4700 lbs. We drove to Virginia from Chicago and every Tesla supercharger was near empty or 50% occupied at most. 20-30 min to charge. 99% of her driving is local so we charge at home after 2 am with lower rates. It costs $1.83 for her to drive about 50 miles a day. Embrace the future. Before anyone states it, the car is expensive but so are the other cars we have owned. Even without the fuel savings it is a vastly superior car.

Glad to hear guys are buying the electric cars. Makes me feel better to know people are offsetting the 600 hp diesel totorhome we just got. I imagine that I too will fall towards the attraction and torque of a new electric hummer at some point soon. The tax incentives are going to "fuel" the sales.

Desert storm shootout results:

Charlie is right, those porkchops are slugs LOL... I need to lend him a pair of 15" 39 pitch 5 blades and watch the his slugs attempt to spin them up. As for the inboard guys, If I could afford to have big power (2300 a side) like Gary, I think I would still pass at this point in my life after seeing friends get killed.

Hold in Greg, please let Chaz talk about his history to **** all over this post and somehow make it political. Seems to be a common theme here.
"You .. not so much." Chaz, just because you must ALWAYS tell everyone what you did 30 years ago due to insecurities, doesn't mean we all do. I'm sure there are many accomplished members here in many facets of racing/life/xyz. You obviously always have something to prove. Champions dont have that need.
BZ, That Tesla is impressive. Once they do a face-lift, get to 3200 lbs, I'm a tire kicker. You know of my last EV builds, no need to explain in depth, but im a fan of the instant torque. My wife will have to survive with her ICE grocery getter. :-)

1400 HP race car vs Tesla Model S Plaid drag race.
A twin turbo AWD race car that is not street legal vs a Tesla with the AC running and kids eating ice cream cones in the back seat. The Tesla gets the EPA equivalent of 102 mpg. The race car needs race gas and gets what mpg? If you get a chance drive an EV and feel the instant torque from 1 rpm on up. My wife's car is 605 hp and 675 lbs torque. The Plaid is 1020 hp. I am completely sold on electric. May have to trade my 500hp sports car. GM announced yesterday they are coming out with a full electric Corvette

Geez this is ridiculous. Talk about mucking up some threads. Reminds me of the person on OSO who went by tubecarz telling
all the Skater fans there boats were junk. Pretty sure he got banned over there.

Didnt post about the Victory cats as this thread was derailed on pg 2 with your first post saying some bs about the space x launch. What does that have to do with the achievement of Victory's cat? I will say it is a beautiful boat and is very impressive with the speed it runs. What do you think it would run with a couple of your warmed over 300x motors? 20 mph less? Didnt respond to your post on crankshaft thread as i dont usually engage with someone who answers a question with a question. Why would I call Merc racing to answer your question? And as we have all seen on this website now you are going to run your mouth about me when you know absolutely nothing about me.

The thread wandered by post 10. I don’t see how the comments take away from the 140 mph Victory boats. It wandered again when comments switched over to Tesla’s. No big deal just swing it back to the 140 mph cats. I agree they are awesome boats, merc performance is the best. Tesla’s are great cars, once again thread is not ruined. No one follows strict rules and if they were implemented it would be a dull site. Lively discussion is what makes the site one of the best.

By page two .. most threads, like this one included are already out in left field without my help. Well if they actually survived and stayed up front where you didn't have to go looking for them.
I watched the Falcon 9 launch @ 4:00 am this morning as well , what a beautiful sight ..
Capt Obvious, I never asked you to call anyone for me. I asked :
Who's number you gave me.
Was it a direct number.
Elevator music for 20 minutes, then only speak to a girl that ask's "can I take a message" .. but you knew that without going back to see for yourself.
In the future, if your going to quote me, at least write what I said .. you know , without adding your own fu-fu.
BTW, How much are a pair of 450's ??? You bought some yourself .. right ???
Once again, up is down, left is right ... a guy needs a switch for his outboard ..yes sir .. that will be $762.00
But, but .. I only paid $1000.00 for the whole boat, motor and trailer ..
Where's the outrage over that .. ???
Nawwww , it's Chaz's fault for pointing out the elephant in the room ..
My point is well documented. I'll go back and delete my post's from this thread .. let's see what a wonderful job you do with it .. today forward ..

They sure are. When I first saw the Victory Cats at LOTO Shootout, I wasn't sure how I felt with the tall side walls and exaggerated tear drop transom. The more often we see them the more I can appreciate the reasons for the design and how it creates lift. Super impressive for an outboard of that size for sure.
It's funny when self righteousness gets called "help". I come on here to see cool stuff. Big, small, expensive, budget builds, team builds, backyard finds, etc. I wouldnt dare crap on anyone who loves a certain product, brand, make, model. I like them all. Ive still never had as much fun driving a boat as I did a HydroStream Vandal. I don't run 2.5's anymore, but they were amazing engines for the time. Its the constant put downs and whinning that is disheartening to see here. Seems as if being a positive person drives unhappy people crazy. I like cool stuff, and 140mph outboard cat seems pretty cool to me. When it's posted "Well how much are a pair of 450s?", the answer is WHO CARES. There's a lot of cool stuff I cannot afford, especially when going to LOTO during shootout weekend. Lol. But I love every minute of it. I love watching anyone who put a crazy amount of time, money, and effort in to anything that goes fast. Doesn't matter which order that's in.
Yeah sure, I'm a cheerleader, and proud of it. I'll cheer anyone on for doing what they have a passion for. I'll also be the first one to point out BS when it's being directed without merit, direction, or reason.
I'm going boating with my porkchop, who's with me?
