    89 evinrude 150

    No fire at all , started simple checked fuses , where should I start checking this thing

    Anyone ? I'm lost on these things and dude don't have any extra stator or trigger, it has a new cdi box (big box) on side
    No fire on all 6. And kill switch is hooked up

    Unhook the kill circuit at the pack and try it for spark. Then check voltage coming out of stator should be 180 on the Brown wires With a peak reading voltage gauge. Trigger/timer base are extremely reliable on OMC's. Also check the fly wheel if vented flywheel check magnet spacing spacing should be all the same.

    Also will not have spark if not cranking at least 250 rpm

    Those powerpacks go bad ALL the time. Yeah, dva the stator, disconnect the kill circuit and do a visual inspection on the trigger wires to confirm they arent shorted. Then it should have sparkles

    AND, I've seen the wrong stators put on those or the wrong flywheel time and time again. They made 2 different stators one is $700 and the other is $350. People don't know which stator they need so they just get the cheaper one. Look under the flywheel and make sure it looks like it has the right magnet-to-bobbin clearance on the stator. If the wrong stator is on there the clearance will be so large that the magnets wont charge the stator regardless of RPM.
