Thread: Greg's fund raiser results...

Guys, guys--this thread was supposed to be about our reaching out to help Greg, yet most of the posts (on both sides) are degrading to personal attacks. I don't care who started it, just drop it. These personal fights are what led Gary to ask what has gone wrong with Scream&Fly.
Per Rock:
"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."
Per my hero Instigator:
"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

This site is for people and friends that boat and do things to help each other gain knowledge from personal past experience. I don't say one thing on the board that I wouldn't or don't say in person-all that know me will confirm (one of my many faults is the lack of a filter-but you don't have to guess where I stand or what I believe in). Sorry to offend anyone but don't call me out when I have attempted to help you in the past and you continue to attack me. I tend to bite back after the second assault.
Again, thanks for all that jumped in to help to Greg we couldn't have pulled it off without the group effort.
Joe

I'm with fever, thank you Greg, for all you do, don't let negativity influence your decisions, I personally thank you for keeping the site up, it's not about money or anything else, just a bunch of guys who live boating, I don't understand how something good can go so sour so quick

A little over 15K (enough for Greg to negotiate on the remaining balances but not even close to wiping it out). When E.J. "the rich union member" or "CUDA the rich tree trimmer/real estate tycoon gives their 3,500", I am going to double match him and we will reach our goal (not holding my breath LOL--talkers are talkers and walkers are walkers). Until then, please continue to make donations directly to Greg if you want and notify me so that I can offer my personal thanks and keep an accurate count. We received another donation last night and I am picking up a check from Scott Porta today (not an active board member)-but a great understanding human being who is blessed to be able to help others and looks for nothing in return.
Thanks again for all that have jumped in on this deal.

I could never thank you all adequately for what you've done for me. Joe took the lead on something that I was uncomfortable with at first, but but he was not taking no for an answer. He knew what I know - what all of you know - that we've become much more than a group of crazy boaters. I've known many of you for more than 15 years, and we've all shared a lot here. The medical situation with my mom came very quickly, and that many procedures and facilities didn't accept her Medicare and United Healthcare supplemental policy placed me in a very alarming situation. I've never been in a situation like this, and I've never owed money to anybody, and suddenly I found myself over $100,000 in debt. You've all really saved me from a catastrophe that had me extremely worried. How could I completely thank you for that??
Joe also made me make another promise, and that was that I need to use my boat this year. And so, I need to keep that promise. But when I do (probably the Camp Mack event), I would like to have one of you drive it so I can shoot photos.
Thank you so very much everybody,
Greg

Well, if you can't tell Greg, we all love you and are so grateful for your hard work. You have brought so many people together with one common goal! Go fast boats! And just a plain "Thank you" is not near enough!

When I told you "I love you like a brother", I meant it.
