Yep I think your right Jeremy , some of the graphics were still visible when I drove it.

That box had holes drilled through it to relieve exhaust pressure - helped with Lemans starts..
Also, great photos of Spencer, Duane and Tom!

Thanks and as always you are correct @Watermark

Here is a better picture of the "mid section box" some team/drivers added on.
    Did not came from OMC.

Very unique pictures from the UIM Formula 1 race last weekend in Evian, France

Amaury Jousseaume ( son of former Paris 6 Hour winner) also brought his red F1-V8 Molinari/Evinrude V8 from early eighties in to the pit.
This red Molinari/Evinrude V8 got more attention then most modern race boats. Specially when Renato Molinari and Guido Cappellino showed up.

During the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s, Johnson sponsored the Ski Show and many other boat entertainment events at Cypress Gardens Florida. This was also the primary location for the majority of our ad & catalog photography, television specials and films. Literally thousands of our photos were shot on Lake Eloise where the Gardens was located.
At one time, Cypress Gardens was the most famous Florida attraction (before Disney) - it’s now a Legoland Park.
Cypress Gardens was more than a Water Ski Show, as the name implies a Garden too.
As a youth, our family went to the attraction a couple of times.

Probably some of the women skiers, did double duty as Southern Belles dressed in there gowns.

People always used to argue w/me about how much power you needed to slalom ski behind a boat.

    Notice the motor.

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I slalom skied behind a Johnson 28 special on a 19 foot deck boat just to show it could do it.

I learned to do deep water starts behind a 13’ Whaler w/an 18.

Also got very good at holding my breath!
