I think Dave may be correct. Bought a Toyota truck from my dad and he was a bare bones kind of guy. Not sure if it even had a radio and if it did it was most likely AM only. Friends daughter in truck and she said it was too hot so I told her to lower her window. Took a few seconds but she finally asked "where is the button".

Just showed this to my 61yo wife and she said what is it? She didn’t recognize it without the cover was her excuse.

Remember when you could go to the dealer and get a car without leather, no sunroof, stick shift and A/C was an option and save a bunch of money.

Everything was an option back then. A/C and a radio you were $hitting in high cotton!!!

My first vehicle had no AC but had an AM radio. Then I put an 8 track tape player under the dash, so I was up town!!!

My first truck was ordered from the factory with no AC. It was later installed aftermarket, talk about a sector that no longer exists.

I had a friend from up north... Close to where you are... He had an add on AC in his 1980 Z28!!! I was like WTF is that??? LOL!!! Mine came with it!

No AC in the 911 though. It does have one hell of a heater. Widows up, Targa off, light jacket and you are plenty warm! Still no radio. The song the opposed six sings is enough!

Before I go, I have to teach my son to drive it though. We live in an automatic, electric world now.

    Nah, that's a screw compressor.

I have a small manually operated one on a book shelf. Gotta be at least 45 years old. I still use, it once in a while.
