Best Yamaha Drag Prop work
Who’s regarded as the best drag prop magician these days, particularly with Yamaha drag props? I’ve been out of this kind of competition for about 20 years, so all the ones I knew back then no longer exist/have moved on.

I bought a brand new 22 Yamaha and had Rich Junker modify it for Allison 1400lb class 800' drag. Very happy with his service and the performance of the propeller.

Thanks. I have a couple of worked Yamahas already, but wanted to get a couple more, worked by someone who knows their stuff. I figure soon you won’t be able to get any of this stuff.

Thanks. Billy Eaves name keeps coming up. I’ve heard of Bob Lipton as well. Someone PM’d me yesterday and suggested Billy Eaves or Ronnie Gilbert, whose name I’ve seen mentioned by notable persons in performance boat forums as well.
The only problem for me is that there’s no current contact information for them (haven’t even found anything helpful on FB) so I don’t even know how to get in touch with any of them.
As a successful small business owner myself, I realize that these guys probably don’t need to spend any time or money on advertising and they probably have more work than they can handle from word of mouth within the industry, but it’s hard for someone like me outside the US to evaluate and choose a good prop shop. I’ve owned and run props before that were done by Jeff Titus (who was a legend back in the day), DAH, and the best Yamaha prop I ever had was a JC worked 24 Yamaha that I bought from a friend. But, it looks like those guys are no longer around, hence the reason I posted on here to see who I should get to do some props for me.
So, any contact details for Messrs Eaves, Gilbert or Lipton would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, we have everything you have up there down here, and then some, all at a much higher price.
I found that link last night too, and got really excited at first. Did you click on it? Did it take you to anything that was of any relevance to Ronnie Gilbert? Because all I saw after 15 minutes of scrolling down through the DSRA FB page was a bunch of “Happy Burt Day” greetings to hundreds of people and a few tributes, interspersed with some info about race events, etc. Haven’t found a single reference to Ronnie Gilbert yet.
I don’t know about you, but Google isn’t my friend anybody. Lately, Google sucks major a$$, IMHO.

1st paragraph
]Ronnie Gilbert has a stock of his new drag prop available to the public. Comes in 20p only. This is an impressive prop that runs very competitively right out of the box. $650.00 comes with flow torque hub kit. Give Ronnie a call to get yours in the mail. (337) 380-1437
I heard that prop is pretty good out of the box...
Back when Doc Tripp was alive he would have Ronnie fly in and work the props at the ramp, here try this..
Props are the secret weapon
I know someone who has a laser guided machine to duplicate props
for multi- engine boats
Hey I need to launder some money I heard that's what goes on down there

Thanks. I'm going to give him a call tomorrow.
I take it that he's not using genuine Yamaha props, if they have a flow torque hub kit?
If you want to launder money, you better find somewhere else, like Delaware or Vegas. That "bring your sack of money to the Caymens" BS was already a myth by the time that Grisham got around to writing about it. We're so "regulated" down here nowadays you can't even get your own money out of your own account without filling out a dozen forms. If you want to tear your hair out, try calling a local bank and asking them what you need to do to open an account down here. I'll have a dozen new props in hand before they get through reciting that list to you.

Ronnie Gilbert makes his own. They're a copy of a Yamaha but just like every prop they run a bit different. Billy Eaves at Performance Propeller sells True Yamaha drags and both are very knowledgeable to be able to work them to fit your needs.
I personally have a prop that has been worked by each and Ronnie's has a slightly faster top end but Billy's is faster in 0-60.

Thanks Alex. This is very good info. I’ve reached out to a guy who’s selling a Ronnie Gilbert prop and I would like to get one or two from Billy Eaves as well. I got my hands on a nice 22P Tillman Yamaha as well. Hoping to test that today, if the rain holds up in the afternoon.
