    Stator DIY Replacement

    Pull flywheel
    Undo 4 bolts in stator.
    Disconnect stator wiring (LABEL THEM!)
    Disconnect timing advance linkage.

    WaterZ, I've got a 40 amp setup now but also have a spare 16 amp setup with flywheel. Gonna swap boxes first, then do to stator stuff if the boxes are ok.
    1990 Shadow bass boat w/ 2.4 200 Merc. Totally resto'd boat and love it!

    Ding ding ding, we have a winner!!! I checked the stator again and one side checked twice as high. I yanked it and slapped on a 16 amp stator and wheel and reinstalled my boxes. Got spark on both banks now. Good call!

    Ha ! Just a hunch but it seems like the stator is the holy grail to these things sometimes .
