Lars Next time somebody posts video's or information they have taken a long time to find, at least acknowledge you didn't even know this footage existed before posting onto your site then re posting it here like you discovered it Lol. sounding like you're desperately trying to drive traffic to your site

WOW..a few new never seen before Evinrude/Johnson Rotary pictures.
I think its from 1973 and you can see Jack Leek and Jimbo in this one.
Not sure about the third person.

The second picture is not Miami. The boat has fuel caps. L-R Barry Karris, Johnson PR; Rich McKinley, Jack Leek, Don Henrich.

The 2 rotary boats that were introduced in Miami, were taken directly to Parker, AZ. I don't recall any testing was done at Parker so the prop selection must have been done in Fl. Salt water vs fresh water; 80 %RH vs 10%.

In September of 1973 the Evinrude/Johnson distributor meeting was held in Greek. All new outboard models were presented, incl. the OMC rotary racing-engine.
We were all very impressed!

The “untold” story……. On the way to Florida we hit a SNOWSTORM in Georgia…… Very Strange. The Freeways shut down while they brought in snow clearing equipment from other States. Jimbo and I got the last motel room at the last exit going South before it was entirely shut down. Prototype motor……beautiful boat….. can you imagine the phone call to Jack Leek to inform him we were hit by a snowplow in Georgia and wrecked the entire project?? .
Thankfully, after two nights we continued on to Miami and got there safely. “The Rest of the Story”.

Question RogerH, or maybe even Lars if he see this. I own a '79 200hp and I am looking at adding some louvers to the cowling to get more air under it. I have noticed several pictures, like yours, shows the louvers on top, did that seem to work the best? Suggestions?
