    Keith,

You said it, "all fun to run ride"-I have a few boats that offer more excitement but none more comfortable or practical then the tri toon. I don't think it has ever been out and not had friends or family on board. Wife loves it, dogs love it, kids ski and tube with it. Now to have it run 70 with a new 600 strapped on would really fill some additional boxes. I am sure we will be seeing 30 foot extremes running with them on LOTO in the next few months.

Funny you should mention mopeds, I just picked up my latest "pit bike/scooter" to upgrade from the Grom. Very fun little bike even if you don't want to have your friends see you on it. Its a miniature version of my 1290.

    The steerable gearcase

Outboard motors having steerable lower gearcase

    Patent number: 10800502
Abstract: An outboard motor has a powerhead that causes rotation of a driveshaft, a steering housing located below the powerhead, wherein the driveshaft extends from the powerhead into the steering housing; and a lower gearcase located below the steering housing and supporting a propeller shaft that is coupled to the driveshaft so that rotation of the driveshaft causes rotation of the propeller shaft. The lower gearcase is steerable about a steering axis with respect to the steering housing and powerhead.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 2018
Date of Patent: October 13, 2020
    Assignee: Brunswick Corporation

    400's push this tri-toon 70 mph. That's thoroughbred speed for a wide-beam stable family / party boat.
600 HP, V-12 outboards coming to the pontoon family soon.

This would be PERFECT for a Hydrostream V-king, Vector, Viper or even a Vandal!! I might just have to drive the thousand miles to go get my Vandal I need to restore!

Yeah, it's a little heavy, but just put the battery upfront under the bow, and maybe the gas tank and that should be plenty to offset the weight of this lil outboard..

LMAO.. I can just picture what some people are already thinking about bolting this monster onto already!

I think the Verado 600 is a spectacular technological achievement for Mercury. Let's face it - Mercury single-handedly created an entirely new generation of four-stroke performance outboards that can outperform their two-stroke counterparts. I use the 300R versus 300XS as a comparison here, which is often mentioned. Both outboards are awesome, but from a technological standpoint, the engineering involved in creating a 4.6L V8 in a package that weighs roughly the same as a 3.2L V6 two-stroke is nothing short of incredible. We all knew that Mercury was going to continue to innovate there and I'm really excited about it. Stern drives and inboards are being replaced by outboards on very large boats and I think that's awesome.

Of course I am sad to see two-strokes go, but so were motorcycle owners back in the 1970s that owned a Kawasaki Mach 3. When the two-stroke performance motorcycles died off, most people thought a four-stroke machine could never match their performance. How wrong they were.

So if the tower of power was an online 6..... what do we call these? Double tower?

Here's a size comparison for you guys. These things are MASSIVE! I love that Merc keeps pushing forward with the technology. Whether or not it's something that I'll ever be able to own or not.

And the best part..... most of their products are MADE IN USA! That holds a lot of value to me, as almost nothing us North American made anymore (Mexico maybe)

I saw a video on youtube with a 50 Formula with quad 600s. Boat topped out at 68mph.What was impressive it was agile as the family ski boat and accelerated like a bass boat. Props were 35 pitch dual props.

When they can out with the full cabin 43 at the Nashville 450 release and it ran in the 70s everyone was amazed the same way they are with this new rig. The wife better have things stowed well in the cabin, I can remember picking tons of stuff up off of the floor after rough runs in my dads express cruisers and we were only going 40 lol....
