I'll guess :
Overly expensive
Over weight (porkchop +)
Overly priced
Overly coveted by a very few (Joe has ordered a dozen ... so far)
Overly complicated
Under performance for the money
Special made for Mercury sparkplugs $49.99 each (from Japan)
Standard gear case , special lube $179.99 quart (holds 1.7 qt's)
Special made for Mercury oil from Keystone XL pipeline. Shipped to China to be refined then back to America $279.99 + shipping. Units sold in quarts 13 needed.
Not sold separately, must buy 2 cases.
16 cylinder stacker , It may be tall ... but it sure is slow and ugly
Cash out of your 401K's , stocks , bonds , CD's , annuities , and buy a few extra's the money is going to a great cause ... To line "burnswick" exec's pockets ..

Chaz you are consistent with your wood shed woopins, I will give you that much. The new motor has to cost north of $60k I'll guess.

Of course not , that makes too much sense ...

But that would fall into the "little boat" category , for the "little man" who don't really love em enough to pay twice ~ what a motor is worth ...
You seem to be a bit consistent in your approach as well ....

So will they be mounting the whole Prius on the adapter plate , or just the Woo Tang Clan fuel sensor ..

Mercury is very bad- I bet they didn't do any market research on their new release, have no idea how to make money, market, or sell outboards. They should get on here and listen to "would be" buyers and they will have way more success, but they already sell more then they can produce this is how free enterprise works when you are on track and create market demand with new products. Don't sell your stocks to buy a new motor "unless you are passionate about boating and want the best product made to date", rather buy some Brunswick stock and hedge against your negativity and stupid comments. 90% of the same "would be buyers" have not bought a new motor in the last 20 years and Tigers don't change their stripes (new motors have always been expensive just like new trucks) so chances of that group supporting new product is slim to none as it always has been. It doesn't take any more energy to look at the positive side of things and be happy with innovation then it does to think that the good old days were so great.
Outboard boats have never been faster and or logged more efficient miles then they do today. But they will in the future as we continue to witness consistent product refinement as we do in every motorsport.

That's what they are best at, pleasing the lefty gov , seeing what they can get away with on their customer base ... does take quite a bit of research
They could build build "Outback Steak" houses twice as big as they are, but then you wouldn't have to wait outside and smell the food wafting in the air. Lot's of meat in the cooler ... but you have to wait your turn. Wonder where Merc got the idea to say ... We can't build em fast enough ...
Lot's of guy's are passionate about performance boating. Some have the money to buy a couple porkchops .. but think it's really-really stupid to hand over $75,000 to your EGO .. err .. for a couple of clamp-on's . Weeeeee, look at me...Don't sell your stocks to buy a new motor "unless you are passionate about performance boating and want the best product made to date", rather buy some Brunswick stock and hedge against your negativity and stupid comments. 90% of the same "would be buyers" have not bought a new motor in the last 20 years and Tigers don't change their stripes so chances of that group supporting new product is slim none. If you step out of the shallow canal with a handful of others, and try some more populated waterways .. you'll notice that there are 500% more older Merc's , and 1000% more Yamaha's out there than porkchops.
While your at the dock or swimmin hole, say hey , how come you don't trade that motor in on a new porkchop .. ????
I'll hedge .. that the answer will be , what-da-ya-think ... I'm stupid
Put that in your consumer report ...
The good ole days .. BTW , Don't you have a ...
