Very true, but that very same boat will fall flat on its face in rough water.

Yes true, and an Allison ProSport 21 will do 110 with a 300R and be better in rough water than the Bullet.

More proof that the 4.6 liter platform is going to change the landscape.

River Rocket here on S&F has done extensive testing with the ProSport 21. He is to Allison what RBT is to Tuff. Lot of knowledge.

Maybe one day Allison will build a rough water SOB and take a spot on The List or even race one in Class 7. River Rocket has also done a lot of videos. To think that an Allison ran 129 mph on radar back in 1987 with a 2.4 Merc is mind boggling.

Word is starting to circulate that a brand new Progression 22 wave crushing SOB is being laid up in the mold on Strong Island as we speak.

No sure how it will be powered.

And late last year they evidently delivered this new 24. Nice to see things are good for the rough water King. Wonder what year they opened shop.

Also for sale now is this Activator 22, redone by a S+F member who must be moving to something different.

Up for auction is a completely restored 1990 22 Activator with 44 hours on it. The Activator brand is known for rough water capability and offshore racing, built in Long Island NY. Mark Schnepf, the founder of Activator, restored the boat. With every part of the boat redone or brand new, you are buying as close to a new one as you can get. The transom, stringers, bulkheads and floor are all composite Coosa board. There is a 55 gallon SP Tanks custom aluminum fuel tank. Features include Livorsi Vantage View Gauges, Livorsi wheel, SeaStar Gen 2 6" jack plate, Pro trim lever, BRP foot throttle with digital shift and control, Icon screen. SeaStar 2.0 helm. Evinrude engine has integrated hydraulic steering. The boat was finished in a base / clear paint job using Porsche GT Silver Metallic and a black stripe. The hull is painted in white Awlgrip. Interior is a fully custom setup, with two deep buckets and a bench with cherry red marine upholstery. A custom Sunbrella cover is included.

Additionally, the boat has a custom Ameratrail Aluminum, C-channel tandem trailer.

With only 44 hours, the boat and engine are in excellent condition and washed, flushed after each use. Upon purchase, I can have an engine report printed out as well. The engine has a manufacturers warranty with several years left. The engine runs perfectly, shows 44 hours on the dial. Featuring black panels and the integrated steering, the G2 is a powerful and efficient engine. No scratches or imperfections to report.

Here are some minor issues: The Livorsi water pressure and fuel gauge don't read, but the information is available on the Evinrude screen. And, a rear light was never installed, the wiring is all there but the light is not. The paint is in great condition with a few minor marks. One mark is near the bow eye where the trailer roller touches it. There is a scratch on the port side wind faring in the black paint, very minor and would probably polish out. There is a tiny chip on the starboard side near the bow, will show a picture, it's very tiny. A small scrape in the white Awlgrip near the front. Overall, it's 9/10.

Although not much time has been spent dialing it in, I would say there is a little bit too much setback, depending on how the boat will be used. The Evinrude has an additional 6" of setback built in because of the integrated steering system and the hull has a 7" notch, making the total setback 19".
With a 26" ProMax prop, top speed is 75 MPH at 5900 RPM, with a Raker HO 26", 76 MPH is the top speed. There is probably more there depending on prop and setup. This boat was built with rough water and durability in mind and it does not disappoint in that department. For a 22' boat the Activator is very forgiving and very capable. The interior is in excellent shape with minor wear on the carpet, seats are near perfect. There is storage in the gunwales, and under the bow there is a floor area for stowage.

    Hull Specs:
    Length 21'6"
    Width 94"
    Deadrise: 22 degrees

And while your at it get The Elders photos or film of all the "ruff water" the 25 runs in. That would be cool to see for sure.

This old APBA class was designed for the motors of the day

Well folks you can now order a 450hp so yes you have to allow longer boats, I would say 26 to 27 foot boat

Boat construction materials have improved night and day, light and strong

Todd D from Wicked boats ( a new boat company in the works) got run over in the final race of the year, so I went to look at

the damage and could not believe how light that baby is built and takes the beating,

If your running a 24 to 26 ft boat you will be able to fly over a lot rougher water safely.
