Its in Olympic Nat park, PNW.
Lake Crescent is a deep lake located entirely within Olympic National Park in Clallam County, Washington, United States, approximately 17 miles (27 km) west of Port Angeles, Washington on U.S. Route 101 and nearby to the small community of Piedmont. At an official maximum depth of 624 feet (190 m) it is officially the second deepest lake in Washington. Unofficial depth measurements of more than 1,000 feet (300 m) have been rumored in the region for years, although this figure has recently been proven false after a lake-wide bathymetric survey was performed from 2013 to 2014 by Eian Ray and Jeff Enge. The results of this survey showed the maximum depth as being 596 feet. Using GIS statistical analysis, this survey also showed the lake contains approximately 0.5 cubic miles of fresh water.
Lake Crescent is known for its brilliant blue waters and exceptional clarity, caused by a lack of nitrogen in the water which inhibits the growth of algae

I'm sure they entered the 9 Hour--DNF
Six days earlier at the 6 Hour---BOB HEWES BOATS--turned in a better performance--
Robert Lanham won the single engine class with a cut-down 16' ALIM and a 1000 (took home a brand new 1000)
Stan Irwin and I finished second in the E-class--13' Allison---(Herbie took home the brand new 500)

...yes, have to agree gene, counter-rotation & props to go along with it, would have gone along way in making that boat really perform... ahhh, just more water under the bridge, as they say...

More On Lake Cresecnt
The water there is bitch'n cold (Ive never seen anybody ski on that lake?) It has a list of people who have disappeared on the lake and never recovered. With a depth of 900+ feet, cold water and low nitrogen I'm sure they are well preserved at the bottom. You should NEVER be on this lake without a good PFD!
