Anyone know what this rubber piece is between the gearcase and mid? Would it relieve exhaust? Just curious.

I have seen some motors discolor in that area . I believe the exhaust dump is just above at least on the 20" R motors.

Confucius say rubber plugs . The joystick AMS motors have exhaust relief there so they can get more thrust in reverse for docking. No joystick option on 300R so they just plug it. I know nobody would remove them to see if it sounds any better but let us know.

Thank you, figured it was some kind of exhaust plug but wasn't sure. Probably have to drop the gearcase to remove it. Only seen them on 25" motors
