"Just so I get it straight , your taking off a Japanese motor assembled in America for an American motor which uses various parts built in Japan, Korea .. etc .. "
I am waiting for your "better then Mercury" all American parts motor to come out and I will swap it again immediately (the day you are done with your 1000 hour durability testing and I won't even ask for a better warranty then your competition offers). As for now, we will stick with the best product available for my application
. I have said this lots of time before (especially within my household)--Don't complain about something unless you have a remedy for the problem, if you have the remedy then fix it....
Don't forget the other parts that Mercury buys world wide such as Germany, Austria, Italy, France, China, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil (I guess buying their product proves that I am not real racist).
I am also making sure you can hear my new "Pork Chop" motor calling your name on the LCB as a single ready to play with a boat that has twins. Get going so you can see it run off before it blows up (sounds like we only have a couple thousand hours of run time to work with) so it will give you another 5 years or so.
I just have a notion that we will never see the motion...
I hope its not true, but if it is and I can figure out a way to continue to make a little money, you can ride with me in the big boat that is going to have two of Mercury Racings next generation (even bigger-and faster) of technology on the back and we will still be able to get fuel at any stop when we get lunch (I will buy both as fuel will be cheap and no need to buy oil --it will just rotate in the can and I will drain every 50 hours or so).

Thanks,
I kind of like "overkill" and a friend of mine (Rod Boertman from Integrity trailers in Nunica Mi.) built this going strictly off of measurements given to him from the Playcraft factory and me saying "just make it Boertman style". This is what he had his team build and was ready for pick up 5 weeks after our first phone conversation. I drove from Florida and picked the trailer up in Michigan then headed to LOTO where the boat was on my lift. I really anticipated that I was going to need a fabrication shop to make minor adjustments "everything other then the center guides is welded"-but it was just as if he had the boat to work with in person and it fit perfect. The best customer service possible and the product speaks for itself.

Fujimo,
Here is what the engine builders came up for exhaust relief. Its pretty trick with a remote activated servo/butterfly. If I get the toon to run good enough, I might adapt one to it as well. This is for my LCB project--CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?? We are working on an enclosure that will get glassed to the chaps and cover all but 3 inches of the down pipe. Not blowing all of the exhaust over the blades might give us a touch more slip efficiency?

So much to translate here ...

Jap motor parts are cast and machined in the land of the rising sun .. and units sold here are assembled here. They are as racist as I am , they hate junk for outside the world ..
So by your value system, anyone who even changes even a sparkplug out side of their dealer network ... is their competition . Makes perfect sense as to why they rape people at the parts counter ...
But can you explain why they do it just as bad to the motor customers .. Oh wait , I remember now , it's cuz they know they are gonna wind up giving away free powerheads / lowers to over 30% of every new one sold .
I reckon thats why everyone runs the Merc racin decals .. they are stuck .. err sponsored by them for a couple years ..
Dog , his welcome mat and the trailer ... all look top notch ..
Of course your gonna buy lunch .. I bought last time , at where ever we went when the Thi place was closed ...
Ride with you over 100 mph ..
Not that I don't trust you . I only do that by myself .. the three others you mentioned , If you killed us and you lived , Deb would say , Charlie's like an Indian, he thinks any day is a good day to die .. and he went out goin fast. You'd never hear another peep out of her. The other two people's family .. maybe not so easy ..
My Motion ... it ran in 2019 . I got my pistons , rods and pins back from the Chryo shop today . Time was, when I'd take a month off and build a new car for myself. Or take off for two months straight and go racing. Now I just work on my own stuff on the weekends .
Mama Deb had breast cancer , an L 5 /S1 operation to fix her stenosis and had a total knee replacement three and a half weeks ago . All starting bout the time I broke that motor in 2019 ... so sorry if I have been a little pre occupied ...
I did hang my HANS device up after winning the Citrus Nationals a few years ago, so it really doesn't matter what you say , I didn't get rattled against world champion's at big dollar races .. I doubt my career would be left in shambles if I got whopped by a boat that has had three to four times the money spent on it than mine. But then if I look back , I see where I cracked more than one baller's azz in my time ..
Speakin of twin engine cats .. Don't you have a 24' Skater thats been passed around from shop to shop like a "truck stop lizard" over the last decade or so ...

You know what they say about people who live in glass houses ..
But just think when you .. err .. they .. get it all done .. you'll only need $70,000 ta buy two pork~chops for it ...
Nice down spout .. I put one that looks like that on a 57 Chevy when I was a kid .. I reckin ya gotta start somewhere ..
Single exhaust on a V-8 .. yea, goes well with a two barrel carburetor ..
That "I can't make up my mind" exhaust valve was a wunderful new invention --->
In 1965 ..

Nothing but more Debbie Downer responses. I was hoping to hear about the new water jacketed headers you were making and the better designed lighter cowl to go over them, and the new gear case "stronger and more affordable", or the new more efficient gear driven cams that you are going to sell or or or.
Please take a lesson from Matt Caldwell, Todd D., Bob Teague, Scott Porta, and the many others that DON'T bash mercury but rather see their short falls as an opportunity and capitalize on it. Being negative is like living in fear or being in constant defense "you rarely get to score without a positive offense outlook" and the glass is always half full from my perspective (don't allow yourself to slip into CUDAville). We all have are living our youngest day today-every minute that goes by is a minute off the remaining buzzer. Be happy you we are here and sucking air....NOTHING is more valuable then time so invest it wisely.
(maybe I should have been more direct then this)
I am waiting for your "better then Mercury" "not asleep" all American parts motor to come out and I will swap it again immediately- (the day you are done with your 1000 hour durability testing and I won't even ask for a better warranty then your competition offers) I will be there to buy the Chaz -Whaat lightweight 500. I know it will cost less then a Porkchop because you couldn't sleep at night asking Mercury prices... As for now, we will stick with the best product available for my application
. I have said this lots of times before (especially within my household)--Don't complain about something unless you have a remedy for the problem, if you have the remedy then fix it.... What you are doing reminds me of the people that bitch about California but won't move (LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT) its that simple.
Get your holes re-plugged again so we can go run. I am headed out to the river for the remainder of the day...

Just an optional release port-nothing is being completely redirected or closed off. The thought process is (better sound like the apex but shut it down for quite time) and (reduced air being forced over the blades for some potential increase in propeller efficiency). ALl of might work or none of it might work but its fun experimenting and being different.
