Outboard Specialty Tools
Purchased a high quality kit from Tyler Holland at Outboard Specialty Tools to rebuild my Sea Star ram end seals. It was one of the few kits in which the crows foot tool has 4 pins and takes a 1/2" drive ratchet. The cap that screws onto the hydraulic fluid bottle is also metal. The tubing is all stamped with pressure rating and the tubing fittings are use crimp bands. The kit even came with well written instructions.

His youtube videos are great to learn from as well. You can tell the guy knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work.

I ended up spending in the $150 range as I purchased the puller, purge hose kit & crows foot as I wasn't sure how things would come apart and I don't live close to any tool suppliers. You can purchase everything separately if you have a few of the tools already. There is free shipping so to purchase "by piece" if needed isn't a big deal. The plastic bottle cap fitting and plastic helm fitting as well as the 2 pin tools sold on eBay seemed like junk to me. This kit omits having to punch the pin hole in the bottom of the oil and risk a spill on the carpet.

I have his tools for bearing carrier removal. Much cheaper than buying all the OEM tools, as well as the trim cylinder wrenches. I've hammered on the bearing carrier tools with a big impact for quite a while, and never broken it. Good quality tools at a good price.
