Sold, bittersweet day as I watched my Pulsare 2400 Bowrider leave my driveway. I now have my Barracuda 188 center console to tinker with....until I get the itch to go fast again!

^^^ Bit harsh. The OP did the right thing and said clearly the boat was sold.
I know I’m a newbie here but I’ve been lurking for a while. I appreciate access to ‘old ads’, they provide a reference point and info on boats. If mods deleted every old ad and every question once it was answered, there wouldn’t be much for us to read about and learn from…..��

Well first, the Verado was +150 pounds heavier so that's like having an adult in the back 24/7. I couldn't get the boat over 66 mph. The GPS that came with the boats had a LOT of miles on it (forgot how many) and the recorded top speed was 68.5 mph. I'm guessing it was never reset.

I can get the boat to almost 74 with gear and my sweetie. Wildman took it out one day and got it to 76.1 alone, but it still had all my gear in it. The boat screams. We frequently make a 56 mile run down the St Johns river to Silver Glen Springs here in FL and I run it 50-60 the whole way down and back. The boat is fun to drive too. It will carve the turns out.

I really appreciate the reply. I have been wondering just how much of a difference there was between them. Since they were on the exact same boat, that is probably the best comparison I could have. And by the way, that is a beautiful boat. The Checkmates have always had a sleek look. They stood out to me back in the 80's. Those may be outdated now but I still think they look good.

The 68.5 was recorded running the old Quicksilver Offshore prop. I ran a best of 72, one person, half tanks of gas running a Bravo One 24 on a 60 degree morning....I miss that boat....
