That picture of the two planes upside down, 1985 air show Niagara Fall Blue Angels, one pilot lost his head, tail of opposite jet hit his canopy.

They look too sleek, but Chance Vought Crusaders? --- No, wrong plane. There was a delta wing Navy plane from late 50's early 60's sort of like this, but I recall more rounded and stubby.
Now I had to go search--plane I was thinking of was an F7 Cutlass, but that is not this.
Got it, sort of:
