I have a searayder F16 with a fresh rebuilt 175. My question is does this engine have some kind of soft limiter? I pulls right to 5200 rpm and sits there. makes no difference on water conditions or people in the boat. I pulled apart the pump and cleaned up the impeller, wear ring and stater which improved take off, but didn't touch the 5200 rpm. coming out of the water, the rpm comes up and hits the rev limiter like normal. I just don't get the odd 5200 rpm part. The other sport jet I had did the same, but that one was 5500 rpm.
