    74 135 strangler

Anyone got any info on this 135
strangler looks like every other v4 I have. I'm restoring a 1974 baja ski boat and was gonna use this being as its the same year or would I be better off just putting my 115 intruder

    Great motor.
Easy to work on, parts are cheap, and perfect for your project.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Nice motor. You can modify to run and 80' tilt and trim. A huge improvement.

Agree with above don't leave the old girl there to end up at a scrap yard.. Cool looking old motors but they were the same as a standard 135 except for the decals, the top of the cowling and gearcase should be blue.

ID:	468428 looks like someone just painted it white. Someone just dropped it off there its on a stand now. But sadly I'm building a 14' tunnel so its a little big lol the hulls built around a 3 cylinder. But then again maybe not

Maybe lol I just seen a post that this motor weighs 256 lbs with the power trim. Any truth to this? What foot options did it have. And i guess this one didn't have the high compression heads just the super strangler?

use your 115 which is a 140 at power head. some of the early 135 had crank balance issues and could get more than 115 hp at head.

add then exhaust web cutout to increase the headm hp by 5hp.

I built a pretty cool 73 135. New trim conversion. Biggest carbs. Reed's. Ported intake. There's a better intake I like too. I ended up melting a Piston because the compression was so high. Needed 93+ pump at least or mix in some race fuel. 100LL aviation would be perfect actually. I'm rebuilding it on a 76 big bearing crank and block.

Nice! Did you use the heads and carbs from super strangler? Do you have porting specs on these old crossflows

Things I've compiled. Measured from top of the jug. Keep in mind I found these measurements on different threads but they do carry a similar theme. I don't want to be responsible for someone butchering their motor.

No problem what rpm did you 140 run at? I also hear the 73 had the highest compression in stock form
