Tin Boat Fun

We like to go play in water refuge up here. So this year i decided to upgrade the wifes 1436 with a new alweld invader 1552.

Main reason was the 1436 was a little tipsy and with a new baby we are going to need to bring a little more with us and i wanted to have a 40mph cruise so i can get off the water if need be.

Still need some setup work but over all it seems like a well built boat that is pretty fun.

I bought the motor out of a scrap yard for 350.00 and put a fuel pump on it and it ran. After that i did reeds and rebuilt carbs and basic maintenance.

It has a band aid on the other side too.

I like lines of that tin rig , I have a 1652 tracker grizzly , little 4 stroke merc 25hp. I wanna get a 60 or so for it and start using it little more , the 25 dont have trim and that sucks

The 56 is a great motor for that boat. I have to wait later in the year so it will give me some time to finish my 76 85 merc. And you know the 150xs will drop right on to that

The Alweld is a really nice boat.

Most of the hop gone with a junk propeller. 2nd time out. Some more tweaks tomorrow

Nice looking motor. But Mercury and i have been fighting. So i will take a old OMC 56 any day of the week.

If i wanted the 56ci to look brand new i could. Last year i repainted my 49ci for the little cat.
