    1994 2.5 175hpxri fuel injection

What’s a fair price for a 1994 2.5 175hp xri fuel injection, guy says everything works as it should and has 120psi on all cylinders, I think it comes with controls also. Anything else to look for on this motor if I go take a look at it? Thanks.

Here’s the motor. Only thing I don’t like is what looks like corrosion on the motor bracket, it is 26years old tho.Click image for larger version.

I would say that's the max (high end) of price range for that motor and condition ,, usually can get nice 200 for that also , not bad price but not stealing it imo , but if his askin price is 3500 then he prob has little wiggle room

That’s kinda what I figured also, a tad on the high side. Earliest I can look at is Friday afternoon, he’s out of town till then. He also has a 1997 175 for sale for 3600.00 without controls. Same shape. Not sure if one’s better than the other only being 3 years newer, I like the cowl style better on the 94 tho...

Were there any difference or improvements made from the 94’ to the 97’ or did just the styling change? Would one be better than the other if everything is mechanically sound on both?

97 will probably have 2 wire trim (relays instead solenoids) and fuel pump built into vst. Neither motor is worth more than $2500 IMO.

Yep, I know the prices on these are pretty stiff, it hasn’t been that easy to find one in the 2500 range tho, maybe he has some wiggle room. All he can say is no and I keep shopping. I doubt he’ll come down to 2500.
