Ya it drops out HARD when I get into the throttle.

It idles pretty good... but that's about it under load.

Use the smallest pitch you can get and use common sense (never hurts to say) when you start using it it will want to push so tied down on trailer and hitched to truck or something... If you have an old aluminum prop easy enough to makeClick image for larger version.

is it idling on all 6, you will need to short the plug leads out to test that
Use a timing light first to see if there are 6 sparks

It seems to be idling on all 6. I get good blue spark to jump 9/16" when I test it.
When I fire it up in the driveway it runs great.

Tonight I dropped it in the water... Fired it up and let it idle. Parked the truck.. grabbed some stuff walked down and realized when I got to the boat I forgot my phone. Still idling... I walked back up to the truck again grabbed it...and back. It sat and idled perfectly the whole time.

It's when I drop it in gear and try to accelerate that it drops out.

That's step one. Then the ign timing considering the fuel you'll always use or maybe you'll get the heads in time. Then fine tuning, jets etc.

I guess someone already asked if it was advancing?
In the vid it sounds like it has no fuel, what happens when you choke it?

You could cut 6 pieces of 14ga speaker wire strip the end , tape them on the coil and plug posts and it would run better than that test run.

    It is advancing.

When I choked it today it didn't help 90% of the time. One time I bumped it and it did pick up 100rpm, but that could have also been one of the spark plug wires happened to connect.

With the other carbs I could hit the choke and it would actually drop RPM.

choke not making a difference can also be lack of fuel pressure.
I see the fuel line goes in with the loom, is it crushed.
Is there a reason its not on the left side where it was from the factory?

The fuel line is on the left as it should be.

The fuel pump is a Delphi 73gph 4-7psi electric pump.

I'll recheck fuel pressure, but after I installed it, the pressure was good.
