Trailer boarding ladders??
Looking for ideas and what's out there for trailer ladders
Have to stop climbing in and out of boat the hard way.
Well honestly can't do that ,so looking for a trailer ladder/ideas
But can't spend that kind of money the only decent ones are $$$ if I could find a used one?
I have the plastic boarding ladder for now works but want something bit more secure for other people too... And guess if it's that or spend $$$$ I'll have to stick with that.

What about steps made from wood like a deck would have and can even put a little hand rail ,mounted to some lockable casters and roll it around ..... assuming it’s on concrete

i like the ones that attach to the jack plate, don’t have to drill holes in the boat , but they don’t go very deep so they might be kinda difficult to get up on idk never used one , Michael there’s some similar threads at the bottom of the page u could comb thru for some ideas

Hey Dan ,
Oh my step ladder works good when I'm in the driveway..
And my 4' one I take to romp etc to get in and out of boat from shore..but would like something on the trailer for when I'm not in driveway... The 4' for getting onboard from beach my be best bet for that but need for other time's..

I like the idea and look of those but have to get it so I can mount it with twins on back of boat and the bigger trim tabs not alot of room left..
But right idea thanksLast edited by mrichartz; 05-05-2020 at 11:17 AM.

The ones that attach to the jack plates are really hard to climb back in the boat. Maybe when I was 20 but add 40+ years and it is pretty rough.

Check West Marine or Overton. They have galvanized and aluminum ladders for mounting on a pier to climb up from the floating dock. I’m thinking mount a couple sockets to your trailer frame that the legs of this ladder would slide down into and the you can climb right up the side. No due diligence here, just thinking out loud.

I have this step on the front of my trailer for my Playcraft. Sure makes it easy getting in.

That's kind off the right idea...I mean I've seen some that work great but the price$$$$$$$
So far looks like getting an aluminum 5 step and some sockets for trailer and heat and bend the ladder to fit..
Really liked the idea of the trailer bow mount with rail..
Might just have to search hard and save my pennies...
Has to be someone selling a used one somewhere

Been boating for 40 years , many of the ramp I use DO NOT have floating dock next to ramp so you must get on boat at ramp . I hop in pick up bed then on trailer alum planks ALL without stepping in water therefore no dirt on deck.....................
I Came up with this prototype to ad to what I sell currently , but liability insurance was stupid. I have it currently on my 24 sea ray it is ascetically pleasing as well as strong . Many people ask where did you buy that .Last edited by LOSTINJ; 05-07-2020 at 12:04 AM.

Hey hey....wait your going to show me something pretty close to exactly what I want and say haha don't have them...man that's cruel next your going to say it was affordable to.. lol
Yea liability insurance is not cheap especially if you have something some idiot can hurt himself win screwing around then blame the ladder etc..
How do you have it mounted to the trailer pinned in a socket?
That's kind of what I was thinking of making but yours is simpler.. in a good way... I was getting to complicated why I didn't make one and I sold my welder because I'm moving the end of summer and downsizing as much as possible.. put the welder up was gone the same day..Last edited by mrichartz; 05-07-2020 at 07:49 AM.
