One boat will never do everything well. That is how I justify my situation-

I agree, if you can afford one and want to limit yourself to only one, a 36ft. Play craft tritoon with a pair of 450s would make a floating living room, dance floor, disco bar, race boat, swim raft, sun lounger, shade protection, ski boat, changing and storage shed all in one...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igYix5LDJls

30 years ago we were on a boat tour with a bunch of other boats. Me, my brother, his wife, their baby, and what seemed like everything they owned. Some childless guy helpfully pointed out that my Hydrostream Virage would be faster with less gear.
More recently my friend, his daughter, and I would pile into a 16’ Baha with trick skis, a slalom ski, 2 wakeboards, and towels to go skiing on the other side of our lake. His father had a place there with a dock we could unload at. I have no solution for you.

I actually have gotten some solution ideas here. I love the cargo net (bungie style) UNDER the front deck to the top of it to hang stuff. I think the kneed board would go perfect there. Never thought of that one. I probably would need to make a cover to keep it from getting into the gauge wiring - but easy peasy. The trunk cargo polyester bag makes a ton of sense....AND - I didn't even think about the fact that there is NOTHING under the rear seat bottom. It is up on a pedestal frame and could easily store ropes under there. I would need to put a hinge instead of having it just screwed to the floor.
I had a 1971 Checkmate 15 footer but it didn't have the foam bunks and no back seat. We fit more junk in that trunk!

I agree with the trunk cargo net. I use one stretched across to contain beer cans. If you put it up in the bow it is a good place to hold all of you lightweight stuff. Life jackets float pads extra cloths towels etc.
