If your going to run it over 7k make sure the plastic caged bearings have been repla ed with steel caged.

If you don't look now chances are you will be soonish. Those plastic cages are not aging well.

I would not suggest to take advantage of that rpm increase regularly if most parts are stock.....JMPO What flywheel you have?

My 2.4 rod caps have a opening in them and can see the crank bearings. I looked again past the reeds at the rod caps and these caps do NOT have the oil window in them. They are solid.

can't you pull the intake off and then see the sides of the bearing that ride on the crank? Or even pull one cap?

I bought this whole running motor no issues at all. Not wanting to take it all apart. I pulled the injectors out and sent off to get cleaned. Not wanting to tare it apart any more.like I said it's a complete running motor from flywheel to prop.

if nobody has been in it it most likley has metal cage bearings my first one did i bought it new in 1995 however i had a 98 a few years later and they were plastic and every one ive rebuilt after that has been plastic cages i ran 8 225 pmaxs my self and one 200 and 1 150 promax i traded for they all had plastic which i never unraveled any of them via rod bearings stuck pistons mostly( by previous owners) but all boxs gone and 40:1 oil ratio
