2.4 non finger ported piston in a finger ported block.
Can you do it and what will you loose? I am assuming you will loose the advantages of the finger ports, but it should still run as good as the 225 non finger ported blocks? I have 6 NEW non finger ported, standard bore pistons for chrome bore that i am thinking of using in a spare motor.Anyone done it? Thanks

I thought about that, but don't think i have the equipment or expertise to do it.One looks simple, the other a bit more difficult. Food for thought though.

let a machine shop cut pistons on mill. U will b glad u did , those ports help alot
And have em D cut the piston port or square, better yet look for cherry 2.4 project and look at the pistons pic , reported great hp gainsLast edited by Merc 2.5; 02-05-2020 at 03:45 PM.

Buy a Cheep drill press $ and a mill vice and do it ya self.....In the end you have a drill press.....I don't D port em.... round is better.... just radiuse.. the top.....Some of the real early....2.4 non finger port slugs were kinda thin in the casting.......when they first came out......

To cut heads..... no.... a Drill press don't have the capable control for that big of a cut/ work. If ya need heads cut I have a bigggg drill press...... bridgeport........ Just send with how much ya want cut.....you may have to final lap them by hand......to make them as nice as a mirror. I don't CC heads......that's up to you.......but before I cut in try to un/warp before cutting to get better chamber even ness.......

And hell you only have 6 so..
I would make sure that if you have someone do them they will match them to the motor. why I said good machine shop.. difference between machine shop and machine shop that does modifications etc....you'd be surprised..
The little things you just assume..
Like when I was talking to a 30 mechanic asked him if he was putting a nose cone or low water pickup ... Had no ****ing idea what I was taking about.. but could build/rebuild a motor in his sleep
