My Rescue Dog
I love Charlie. Australian Shepherd rescued at 10 months old. Puppy mill stud and kept in a cage his entire life before I found him! He took a lot of work!!! 5 years old now. How time flies...
With a lot of attention, he became mine and I became his!!!

Nice looking dogs guys! Its great to see people picking up rescues. They are so often overlooked as an option. All they want is to be loved.

Grew up with a great dog and would love another but developed quite the allergy to them as I've gotten older. Great pictures guys.

We've had two rescue dogs. We found the first one at the cottage. Beagle/Doberman cross or something like that. 15 years of fun. The second came from the pound. Lab Shepherd cross. 8 years.
Now I'm waiting for my wife to retire to get another pound dog.

Well I should say allergies are part of a reason I don't have one. My work schedule doesn't work that great for one either. Gone for 24hrs at a time 2-3 days a week(career firefighter) and work two other jobs, so I'm away more than I'm home and live alone. Wouldn't be fair to a dog.

Very cool dog Paul. Glad to see you trained it. The few Australian Shepard's I've been around weren't trained or acclimated to strangers and were not friendly dogs.

Mine loves everybody and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He will come up wagging his nub (a true bob) wanting to be petted. They are very smart with only a few breeds having a higher IQ. When I got him, he didn't know how to sit and kept falling down in my back seat on the way home so he had never been in a vehicle. Who doesn't take they dog riding? I take him everywhere!!!
Soon as I get a fence for the yard, I'm going to get another Aussie rescue for a buddy. I'll have to get a king size bed if I do that though! LOL!!!
