TDC Mark does not line up with the arrow on my fly will cover is it possible that the fly wheel could have been put on a tooth off or is there a keyway friend of mine did that part

Nope. Flywheel is splined to fit crank in only one position

I can’t seem to get the time in close to 22° BTDC I shortened the little linkage rod as far as it would go and I can only get 12° I was told it’s a 40 amp 2.5 stater assembly do I have to get a 2.4 stater to make this work the top dead center was nowhere near the viewing window of the stater cover pointer

pull the flywheel cover off, get #1 to TDC and take a steel wire (coat hanger) and bend a loop in one end and bolt it to the block and bend it to line up with TDC on the flywheel. Then time it off that. I think with all the different motors this may be messing with ya. make it easy.

That’sNot the problem I got it set to view top dead center but I cannot advance it past 12° shorten the linkage little arm at the top as far as it will go and the advance mechanism is bottomed out onto the casting it won’t go any farther
