The Original 'BP' was introduced late 1967. The only way to run a SSM on a 99" powerhead was to use the fishing motor driveshaft housing. Originally Posted by RogerH

The 'ADAPTER' was introduced for the SUPER 'BP' in 1969---allowed you to run most lower units on the SBP driveshaft housing--
