ID:	440868Now that the Tygon hose issue has been thoroughly discussed lets talk water preasure hose for a minute.
Took my Action out today and noticed water running down back of the dash all over electrical wires and such so I headed for boat ramp and back home (short trip) Must be hose going to my Livorsi water preasure gauge, I know that's a no brainer! Real question is can I just replace the hose? I would think so. But what should I get and is there a braided hose that would keep this from ever happening agin? Also what size do I need? And this is it right,Click image for larger version.

the livorsi uses the small 1/8'' nylon doesn't it? all speedo's, water pressures, etc., gauges are, are simply low pressure air pressure gauges. you can blow out the line you have that broke(thoroughly, to get the salt crystals out), cut it, and refasten it to the back of the gauge. the gauge itself probably won't last as long now, now that you also got salty water into the back of it & its diaphragm, but you can also attempt to flush that out with some fresh water & dry it. water should never travel up the psi line. it should only be air. you can replace the line/hose with anything you want, that's clean & dry, and with good attachment fittings. believe it or not, decades ago, the water pressure & speedo lines were 3/8" black rubber fuel line, then they began downsizing them to 5/16", then the small black aquarium size black tubing, then the rigid 1/8" ridged plastic, etc. hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I didn't think water was suppose to travel that far up the hose either, not sure if it broke at gauge or a foot away from gauge, couldn't tell by looking at it while motor was idling and I was by myself. These connections in pics look like they just push on to me so maybe this will be a easy fix! Fujimo, I know what you mean about saltwater it is some bad stuff!!! Looks like gauge lasted 10 years before springing a leak, not bad for a salt water boat I guess!

take the gauge off the dash and throw it in a bow l of rice once you have put some water through it..
cant hurt but try and keep the gauge alive for a few more years.
