It would be nice if it had a breakaway safety capsule for 200MPH + runs, the three-point hydro design they used is very safe, bleeds air easily and aerodynamic, at 200mph

    Very important.

The car motor drag boats have a lot more power and weight to push the outrigger design

Anyone want to burn a million, with what CTR has in the works reliable power 3.5L torque is abundant.

CRT is definitely interested in some speed records , we have the 32' DW about done and the 32 'er coming from across the pond to run some big numbers , but with twins . The safety side of things in the 32'ers is what is appealing for the speed runs . 140's is the goal . The safety side of the single eng boat must be really looked at , over the power of todays top motor guys . I always wonder if a longer but narrow style tunnel F1 style boat could do it , with the late style crash box stuff incorporated . I ran 140 with the longer BaBa f1 boat and it was very stable , however that's not a candle to the record speeds . Im just saying that style, with some changes for top end #'s may have a chance with more power and a good driver .

Just under 161 two way average. I was told that he ran 171 at the exit of one pass. That’s with a UIM legal motor and a stretched f1 boat.

So this tells me it could be done possibly? Maybe the 2.5 needed that over drive lower?

It can be done........ just plyin with matches. Overdrive on a 2.5 not..... but a V8 rude ya. I don't think a 2.5 could pull long and strong.... for the effort. Need big motor......nice to look at V8 fstroke.....turbo......then overdrive.

This 4.0L engine maybe a potential option on nitrous as we will be setting it up for the Jerry Bird no tech 1200lbs nitrous Outlaw Series. Shooting for 600 horse on alcohol and (2) 200 horse kit on top. This engine will be able to run over 10,000 rpm stable.
