    Omc ignition wiring question

I have a 1978 johnson 2 cylinder 55 no trim it came on a pontoon boat there is no red plug instead they ran the wires through a clear tube through the motor and I have no idea which is what. Green, red, white, black, blue, yellow all with round connectors and light purple no connector. I'm trying to hook a key switch looks like 6 terminals. I would say it was Micky mouse but it is neat and was probably done by dealer. Any help appreciated. thanks Rick

Also on the block I see where a window was welded I figure this engine was like the ones a small dealer in De used to do waranty work they would repair that engine. Omc use to have them fix the engines like many other dealers when omc went down they lost a bundle.

The ignition switch should have letters for each of the functions. You'll have to figure out what your wires are hooked up to. You should have a 12 volts(all the time...probably from the starter solenoid) which would go to the B on the switch...wire from the choke/primer will go to the C.... the I on the switch will power your gauges...G on switch to ground...S to the starter solenoid/safety switch...T to the grey wire on rectifier and the K will go to the kill wire on the CDI....pretty sure those are the letters on a normal push to choke switch.

Or just go right to the motor and see what color wires go where and mount to the switch.
