Nice bottom end? 1000lb bote, I should b round 240, combo I got is few mph faster than PM on same hull, (tested) with 4/5 pedal. Will I loose bottom? Or better yet would I notice a loss?
It's not a 500 or600 lb hull , and I love the bottom and mid range it has

My general thinking has been if it’s EFI, then the seven is a good choice all around, but with a carb motor, the five petal front seems to work well - at least to about 7500.

4/5 pedal can be strong motor.. .point blank...7pedal can achieve more HP....but every motor setup is different...its the combination of everything that makes it work....not 1 mod

like i said...u get more air going in....gotta have more air going out!
so slapping a 7 pedal front on a small port 150 prolly wont beneifit

4 petal on a carbed bass boat is hard to beat. The 4 petal will be better down low, mid to upper range pretty close, and under 7500 you may not see an increase with the 7petal depending on rest of combo. With the turn in the intake the main stream of air/fuel charge is going through the area where the 4 petal reeds are with better velocity, add the extra width of the 7 and you are mainly creating a dead spot to slow velocity. The more you space the intake away, the better it helps. I’m playing with a 7 petal setup now on a Triton bass boat. Can’t say I’ve lost much mid range, but havnt gained either. Havnt stretched it out yet to know on big end, but 0-70 better with my old 4 petal motor, ain’t so sure it’s gonna get it on the big end either, just now getting jetting dialed in. Interesting, this motor didn’t want near the fuel at idle/ low rpm as my 4 petal and is wanting much more above 6500. This tends to make me believe it’s because of lower velocity down low and business picking up in higher rpm.

If your starting with 200 with a low flow exhaust dump area don’t waste your time and money , I’m building one right now if your build started with a 225 PM the mods are endless on my shop ... The 200 hp motors have a dwarfed exit size , no matter what’s done one the induction you can’t get it out ... ( 25 years experience building these )

It’s on a Tr-20. Haven’t gotten any numbers on it yet, just getting break in done and still dialing in fuel. The 4-petal I’m trying better had similar porting also had rectangular exits with a little less exhaust work, ran 82 with full tournament load and just shy of 85 with most junk removed with a 27 SRX. Was clocked at 70 in 600 ft with a 24 et from a 3mph roll. The whole point of the 7-petal was to try better top end and maintain mdrange. So far I am very pleased with midrange, seems a little lazier from 6k to 7k, but hoping that’s in tune (too lean).

Dumps on a 200 can only be safely opened about 10% or you base gaskets will fail and let water enter 5-6 not enough metal at dumps to maintain gasket integrity!!

Been there and done it !!!
Call me I’ll educate you how to richen any EFI without fooling with the ECU
