the buzzer should have 12v to it any time the key is on.. if it runs hot the sender grounds it and the alarm goes off.. when you first switch it on it grounds and beeps to let you know that it's working...find the buzzer , switch key on , check for 12v , ground the other side ...it should blow..if it does not , then the horn is bad....if it does , then figure out why it's not grounding..

If the key is in the control box warning horn should be inside, key in dash will be at ft of harness like Vnemous stated.

I assumed that because this is a High Performance boat site he would have and Incontrol shifter and a foot pedal like the rest of us.missed the control box part
81649A1 is part number if in box.

Key is in control box but horn is behind dash pretty sure black plastic disk with a blue and white wire has to be beeper. ill see if blue is 12v with key on, grounding white should energize horn. thanks guys. i cant run with alarm disabled.

port side, gauge means "temp gauge"... over heat is in starboard head.. single tan/blue wire.. it is tha wire you can ground to test buzzer also.. 2.5 or 3.0 motor?.. oiler still work?.. if so then it could be tha oiler warning module.. it is what makes tha buzzer test beep when key is turned on...

what motor?.. may have an OEM manual in pdf for it.. can send it to ya if I do have it..

ok grounded starboard wire horn sounded. just cant get the test beep. on start-up. beeper is behind dash, key in box, using foot throttle. 225 pmx non-oiler no modules. im 99% sure i heard a beep after rigging and turning key 1 st. time. not even sure anymore. what mystery part gives the 1 test churp? stumped....
