It’s on eBay I’m working a deal on buying it now. not sure where it’s located yet but it’s going to doral fl near the Miami airport. It’s on e double axle military I think píntel hook trailer with air brakes. The guy will defeat the air takes if your tow vehicle isn’t set up with air lines

If the vehicle is rated to pull 15K or more, it should not need brakes on the trailer.

By law they are required over a certain loaded trailer weight which is 3000 pounds in most states including Florida. The tow vehicle will have a tow rating which means the braking system (and engine, transmission, chassis etc) is capable of loaded trailer weight up to the vehicles' rating. Most all vehicle manufacturers recommend trailer brakes on loads over 1000 pounds, this is mainly to keep the vehicles brakes from wearing quickly. Personally, I would rather tow with trailer brakes because it is much safer and easier on the tow vehicle.

That said, Cuda is right is saying that if someone were to disable functioning brakes on a trailer and the driver was aware of it, then yes, he and the driver would be facing quite a bit of liability if there were an accident due to the tow vehicle being unable to stop in the required distance that are in the law books.

I have towed a lot of 7k - 8k trailers with my old Suburban with a 10k rating and no brakes on the trailer without issues, but have worn out the brakes quite quickly.

Yes, brakes are needed and required, but in a pinch, you can do without them..... just drive carefully.

I didn't mean air for a horn, I have a lot of trucks, loaders, chippers, trailers...

I just need to have AIR, my pump cost more than that whole set up, one of my trucks is set up to pull an air brake trailer, but it is an old F800 that only does 60mph.

My guys call it the Turtle.

I have pull up to 36,000 combined many times with my f350. Lost trailer brakes on a 35,000 # load due to a bad pothole and bad wiring. Let me tell you... **** dont stop. My excessive checking for brakes saved my ass that day.

Isn't that over capacity for a F350? Thought the 350 was rated at 26K?
