    The End Of Mod VP.......

Mod VP was originally envisioned as a class for racing a couple of weekends a month and doubling as the "family ski boat" the remainder of time for the owner/drivers. The Mod VP boat count started to studder-step with the capsule mandate and the entry roster started to collapse over the years in IOGP. After a while, they were dropped completely off the race event programs that survived along with SST140. When Stoker stopped showing up, it was really the end of it.

This is not what I want to see at a competition event personally , a guy with the worlds worst ' speedo " and another one across the bay walking on water in a shirt and tie .

Let’s have another look at that MX13. That V4 looks pretty big on there!

Edit - I was told this is an Allison, but I am not sure. The owner of this boat indicated that it's a Checkmate. Maybe some of you can help out with that.

This is an answer to Jackie Wilson here at my thread instead of his....

First I told myself I am just going to let this go but I am going to answer:

Pretty sure I was more successful racing outboards in the OZ class than you Jackie..!!
Paris 1978.. I finish fourth in the OZ class.
I don't remember a Wilson in the Paris OZ class 1979. All the top guns was racing the OZ class that year (Merc T4 and OMC 3 liter loopers)..
    http://svera.se/blogg/paris-6-hours/...a-3-liter-v-6/
To win the ON class that year was a piece of cake. You spent half an hour in the pit fixing the fuel-tank and still won the ON class with very few entry's.
I did not see a Jackie Wilson at the F1-V8 OZ class races 1983. (Well in Casale and London)
Did very good at some of the races, heat wins and one of the fastest boats at the US races.
A crash and a blown power-head stopped me a few times.

The first picture is my #11 OZ class Molinari/Saffa boat in Paris 1978, second picture is from "Three Rivers Regatta" Pittsburgh 1983.

PS 1 ..By the way..I used the #8 F1-V8 picture so you can see how my nickname is spelled.

PS 2. Not going to Tavares.

Paris OMC OZ class dry pit 1978

    Thanks Wilfried Weiland..
#16 is Jimbo McConnell/Johnny Sanders, #12 Renato Molinari/Tom Posey, #15 Erwin Zimmermann and the Saffa boat the the far right is #11 Lars Strom/Angelo Vassena. All boats are built by Renato Molinari.
I think its Jim Wagner behind the #12 boat with his foot on the fence. Phil Wagner.
The #16 and 12 boat is using the new OMC 3 liter, looper V6 with fuel injection. The #15 and 11 boat use the 2.4 liter cross-flow V6 carb.
