1992 V-175 2.5L carb., mid-range stutter?
Hi all, first post. Serial D 122592, under 200 hours. Stutters from 1100 rpm through 2800 rpm. New motor to me, starts and runs great, strong on the top end, just this frustrating mid-range problem. I have replaced the plug wires and plugs. Examined the coils for cracks. Bought and read repair manual. Planning on fuel line replacement and compression test. My best guess is mid-range jet in one of the carbs is clogged. Ideas?

Guess I really did not say it, but am hoping to get a few ideas from experienced people about what might be causing the stutter. Thanks! (I am not that familiar with forms)

Local auto parts should have a spark tester u can buy or you can pull plug wire at idle to see if sound of motor changes

Update:
I changed fuel line, rebuilt carbs and fuel pump. Did a spark test and link and sync.
Started and ran rough. Set the idle air screws for best idle.
After it warmed up IT RAN GREAT!
My thanks to Merc 2.5 and Dave Strong.
this website is life saver.
