My wife of 22 years did a 180 with our boat. Its been 3 years since I resurected an '85 Checkmate Eluder. At first she hated the project seeing all the time money and beers that it took to make it happen. Any mention of boat was met with eye rolls. We both love to fish and once she got out on the water and pulled in a few big ones it was game on. Now on Saturday mornings before dawn I'm being woke up to get things ready to go out

My wife has never been on my Seebold. Doubt she ever will. Last time out on my fishing boat, I was running about 30 and she said "slow down, I can't breathe". She sure as heck will never help me in the garage. Probably better that way, at least at my house.

When my wife started boating with me about ten years ago, she wasn’t that into it, but within a few months it was .....’let’s go jump ferry wakes’.....and today.....she has her own boat (actually it’s her second
) that she uses solo to take the kids to the beach and fire island when I am not around.

My wife didn't grow up around boats, and our recently picked up hydrostream is her "first boat" as a boat owner. I've had her up to about 75 so far. She "prefers" the 50-55 mph range, but doesn't complain too much when I stretch it out. She enjoys being out on the water, is very helpful around the dock, has no idea what she needs to do to help or what to look for, but is always willing to learn and give a hand. She's tried to back the boat down to the launch a few times but hasn't figured out the trailer yet, so I usually put her in the boat and handle parking the truck, getting the trailer, etc. She's done a good job pulling the boat into the dock/trailer so far.

My 1st wife was all about boating and going fast. My girlfriend would go racing with me sometimes. She likes going out in the boat. My granddaughter loves boating. She really likes the new Talon. She drives but thank god she can't reach the gas peddle

Damn I feel lucky first date out with my wife in boat my best friend hit a channel marker I missed it and she thinks I can drive . Still going WO when she will let me drive. When we had a 24 Skater She always drove and left me to throttle, She got good at driving fast and it kept her from beating on me to slow down.

My wife has been to 150 mph many times in the cat we owned. Now we are more leisurely with the OB cat cruising at 80-90mph in rough water. Here is photo from last weekend at LOTO for the Shootout.

My wife liked it a lot more before she saw us swimming for a few people (One wasn’t found.)
. After that I don’t thing she’s gone over 58mph in the race boat. Understandable but really tests my patience when friends are blowing by me on slower boats. I’ll stick it every now and then and just deal with the yelling and a smack in the head later.
Loves slow boating though

Back in 1978 I had a brand new four week old Viking , after we put the boat in the Niagara river my girl friend says I'm staying here , very scared , so I go out by my self and come across a 300 some foot ship , just as I was going up his huge wake, I liked to catch air and fly a little I backed off thinking that maybe my girl friend has a point about my driving, when I backed out of it the nose dug in the top of the wave sending a lot of water over my deck bending back the windshield on my new boat.

Wow.. what a response on this post. Didn't think you guy's liked women around. .lol
Thought you guys would post you're wife's and your girlfriends. . Lol my bad wording...
Awesome to see so many couples, kids and g-kids on the water enjoying boating. I grew up on and by the water, always having access to boats. My wife started boating with me in 1985. Since then we had pantera, carrera, baja, sea ray, cruisers inc, egg harbor and fountain. We had offshore boats before kids, but with kids over nighting that was getting cramped. So we went thru a couple express cruisers, then went to a egg harbor for a few years. Well the kid's are now out on there own now so we decided to go back on a trailer and wanted something easy. We picked up a non saltwater fountain cc 31 ft and it has been the easiest to maintain.
Yes we are a boating family,as we all like the amenities of the bigger boat my wife, both my girls and g-kid love to go fast... out of the 9 boats we have had me and the wife still rank the carrera and the Pantera as are favorite. The egg harbor did have a nice back porch.
Seems the wife's on here favor the 30+ cats!. Awesome.. We had another OPA poker run here a couple weeks ago. Seen some nice stuff. It kind of got me going looking at them.... Then somebody whispered in my ear, have you seen are insurance bill!.
