Louder motor too.....haha....I have finally given up on stereos and use an i-pod with ear buds.....So simple, and everyone has their own music choice.

Stereo is not in the cards for me until I get a 16 amp stator. Not gonna think about it with the 9 amp...

I got the loud exhaust thing covered, it sounds like a dragster. The lower unit I put on it has the exhaust cut out on the sides. I may just put a big inner tube under the deck to hopefully muffle some of the noise

Inner tube will give some support and flotation, but not going to do much for noise imo. I had one in my King's bow originally since it would oil can. Stood it up vertically with about 10 psi. Did the job nicely. Made the front deck much more solid.

Dynamat or a generic alternative on any surface that will tend to resonate works pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...l_2cap52jngr_e

Kinda hard to get that on the inside of the running surface once the floor's down though. Not to mention it's HEAVY.

Good thinking though. I have dynamat in my old Z-28 and it would work in the boat. To make them quieter just use balsa core. It really kills the noise factor.

I wonder if dynamat would work to keep some of the noise down? thoughts?

EDIT: hah, didn't realize there was a second page to the post! I see some of you fellas are on the same page on the dynamat.

Is it possible to get closed cell foam out of a tin?
I thought you had to buy sheet foam to get that formulation?

The organization I work for has used blue and pink home depot foam for undersea vehicles as flotation foam. With an epoxy based paint coating it can stand 70-80 feet of water pressure with minimal distortion and doesn't have a problem with essentially continuous immersion in water for at least a couple of years.
